A mixed bill of new dances by choreographers:
Megan Bridge
Zornitsa Stoyanova
Laura Vriend
Annie Wilson

Megan Bridge is a dancer, choreographer, curator, dance writer and co-director of <fidget>. She will premiere an excerpt of her choreographic staging of DUST, a ninety-minute experimental opera by composer Robert Ashley. Live interactive video design by Peter Price, performed by a Megan Bridge, Christina Gesualdi, Beau Hancock, Greg Holt, and Michele Tantoco.

Zornitsa Stoyanova created and presented shatter:::dawn, a dance installation event in May 2013. Since then she has been working hard on creating and birthing a human being. This new piece is her first attempt at making dance as a mother. It is a work in progress touching on her interests in manipulating light and relational movement.

Laura Vriend holds a doctorate in Critical Dance Studies from the University of California, Riverside. Her scholarly and creative work focuses on the intersections between landscape, memory, cities and choreography. Laura has both a scholarly and artistic interest in stillness and awkwardness (including her own) and becomes easily and thoroughly enthralled by these qualities in choreographic works and how they relate to what philosopher Peter Sloterdijk referred to as “the kinetic impulse of modernity”. She grew up on the wind-swept plains of central Canada where she cultivated an appreciation for a peculiar and minimalist beauty.
Careful is a sweetly absurd choreographic love letter to the Canadian prairies, by a displaced prairie girl living in a big American city.

Annie Wilson is a Philadelphia and body-based performer and creator who pursues new modes of performance to illuminate new ways to live. She is a graduate of University of the Arts and Headlong Performance Institute. She is the Development Coordinator for Mascher and writes for online dance publication Thinking Dance. Some artists she has recently worked with: Lucinda Childs, Nichole Canuso Dance Company, Carbon Dance Theater, <fidget>, Applied Mechanics, Curt Haworth, and New Paradise Laboratories.
Lovertits is a burlesque/dance/theater/Little Women/American Revolution mashup executed by some of Philly’s best performers.
