Our curation of New Voices in Live Performance brings together works that explore states of being and consciousness. These artists are asking questions about queerness, feminism, presence, and embodiment through both topical investigations and abstract experimentalism. Please join us for a post-show discussion moderated by Marissa Perel.

Megan Bridge is a dancer, choreographer, curator, dance writer and co-director of <fidget>. She will premiere an excerpt of her choreographic staging of DUST, a ninety-minute experimental opera by composer Robert Ashley. Live interactive video design by Peter Price. Performed by a Megan Bridge, Christina Gesualdi, Beau Hancock, and Greg Holt.

Melissa Krodman is a Philadelphia-based devisor, performer, and 2013 graduate of the Pig Iron School for Advanced Performance Training. Kelly Bond is a maker, performer, and thinker of dance from her home in Nashville where she lives with her partner and daughter. Krodman and Bond will share a work-in-progress that explores possibilities of a Universal Consciousness as they further ideas of collective decision making and herd consciousness from their 2012 duet, Colony.

Marissa Perel is an artist and writer based in New York. Her interdisciplinary work includes performance, installation, criticism and curatorial projects. More than just a piece of sky (excerpt) is based on the story of Yentl by Isaac Bashevis Singer, and the movie by Barbra Streisand. It expands on modes of queerness within poetics, dance, and music. Choreography, text and music by Marissa Perel. Performed by Lydia Adler-Okrent and Jumatatu Poe.

Annie Wilson is a Philadelphia and body-based performer and creator who pursues new modes of performance to illuminate new ways to live. She is a graduate of University of the Arts and Headlong Performance Institute. She is the Development Coordinator for Mascher and writes for online dance publication Thinking Dance. Some artists she has recently worked with: Lucinda Childs, Nichole Canuso Dance Company, Carbon Dance Theater, <fidget>, Applied Mechanics, Curt Haworth, and New Paradise Laboratories. Lovertits is a burlesque/dance/theater/Little Women mashup.
