Nora Gibson Residency at thefidget space

This summer we had Nora Gibson in residence at the<fidget> space. Here are some words from Nora: “What I was working on during The Residency were mainly the logistics of things like the range of motion that the scanners could detect, where the placement of screens and the projectors should be, and dealing with other technicalities of motion generated graphics. I was programming visuals that translated well with movement, where the data from the scanners effectively and aesthetically altered the parameters of the graphics. I was also ensuring that the user interface I built would be useful for the anticipated arc of the dance.” Pictured below is Maddy Mikami, interacting with a scanner, which in turn dictates the coordinates of real-time generated visual graphics.
